Have no fear 'Queer's' here!

What do u get when u put together a food & wine concierge, an interior designer, a fashion stylist, a grooming expert and a culture guru? Well the Fab five, of course!
‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’, that’s the programme I’m referring to on Television and the men in question are Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Felicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez. Aah Kyan Douglas!! The grooming expert.. n my personal favourite (some guy he is :)). One small technicality tho, he’s ‘GAY’ (tsk tsk what a waste) Y goodlookin men like him end up gay is one of nature’s mysteries I’ll never get an answer to :)
Infact for those of u who haven’t seen this, all 5 in 'Queer Eye’ team are Gay!

Hmm whats this series about? Its a makeover programme where the Fab 5 treat each new guy as a head-to-toe project. They show the man their perceptions of how to fix all the problems, pertaining to each of their correspondent specialities and utilise the 24 hours they have to turn a sloppy zero into a style-savvy hero on all fronts, from grooming skills, an updated wardrobe, appropriate interior decoration to better taste in cuisine… Right from hackin off ‘nose hair’ to instillin fashion sense, to ‘convincin’ grubby men to shave, to gettin them a right haircut to usin cologne…(Whew)!! Basically, a one-hour guide to "building a better straight man”... right from scratch!
(U cant imagine some of the slobby stuff the guys in need for a makeover do n protray. Yet they are patiently steered in the correct direction, in every respect by the Fab 5).
Once that’s done they sit back n view the finale’ results, cheering n applaudin at the effort as the 'transformed' man rakes in compliments from family, friends..
The way the shows conducted.. these guys are professional's to the core & im sure this ends up giving loads of useful tips to viewers watchin at home as well.

This show is definitely heartwarming n witty.. a must see with a catchy signature tune n an apt slogan 'Five gay men on a mission, out to make over the world — one straight guy at a time’! It was also recently awarded the 2004 Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program.

Few would disagree, but it indeed has been common knowledge Gay men have excellent sense of style and this series, by merging the stereotypes of both the gay and straight cultures into one common goal: self respect, a good image and killer style, doesn’t prove otherwise. I dont see how this can become an ego hassle for any guy.. if expert help and efforts are put in for someone and that ends up making him a better person..well then y not.
Contrary to the US one, a new UK version has recently been launched, which I’m yet to catch a glimpse of. Hopefully it would be just as good n wont be a disappointment!
